Sunday at W.E.

Sunday's are always fun! It is fireside chat day at Djuma. Today we had a great drive where we had quite the interaction with two teenage male elephants. One was fairly shy but the other had quite the display of emotions ranging from curiosity to trying to show Pieter and Rexon who is boss. It was fantastic to watch. Slowly but surely I am learning more about elephant communication so I don't panic and pee my pants every time it seems as though an ellie pulls a mock charge. lol I have all the faith that our resident elephant whisperer knows exactly what he is doing but it still makes me nervous! lol And Pieter stopped to play in the mud as well lol. He left his mark on a tree (shown below). Good thing he didn't mark his tree like most animals in the wild do! It IS a PG show lol.

Unfortunately, the battery didn't last very long today and we only got about an hour into the drive before it cut on us. Pieter and Rexon drove around like mad trying to charge enough juice to at least come on cam to say goodbye to us.
The fireside chat was great as always. I love watching them sitting around the fire talking about various things they saw this week or questions that were posed to them by viewers. Very fun and informative. Rexon had a good week with his yingwe (leopard in Shangaan) and was very eager to talk about them during the chat. He is just so soft spoken and well you just want to kiss those cheeks every time you see him. He is a good soul and you can tell just by looking at him. And we got to know Motheo a bit more...shy guy that he is but such a nice guy. He even took the time to email me back to let me know my question would be addressed next. Now that is service! lol

Anyhow...here are some pictures from today I thought I would share.
