Want to make a whole village of kids happy?

Most of you guys know that I am a Wild Earth fanatic. One of the guides, Rexon...is an AMAZING man. He grew up in a village called Dixie...where kids did not receive much of a formal education if any at all. That is until Rexon came along...his vision and dream for all the kids to be able to attend school and even go on to a university education if possible. This was not easy for Rexon to do since the village was steeped in Shangaan tradition and they were very leery to the prospect of change.

Since Rexon's work began...they have a daycare, a school and a creche that serves as the hub of the community where they have HIV counselling, art, ethnic education and even woman's soccer. His work at Dixie is amazing....there is still a lot of work to be done though. Their school is nothing like what we in the western world see as schools. But it IS a school none the less.

Most of these kids have never been out of the village, never seen a paved road! Graham and the Wild Earth team would like to treat the kids at Dixie to something VERY special. They want to take the kids three hours away by bus to a movie!! Remember these kids have never left Dixie...this would be an amazing trip for them. They want to take them to see a movie and get popcorn and a soda. They are raising money for the trip right now....so if you feel like making a moment that a child will likely remember forever...you can help!
