Thoughts for Thursday...a day late! lol

Yeah well so sue me...I am a day late and a dollar short but here I am. And my topic for the week is

Road Rage

Imagine, if you will, a family of 4 coming out of the grocery store. This family of 4 happens to have two small children. While the family is walking with their cart to the car they witness a man rallying for a parking spot. He eyes a young man and his girlfriend getting into their SUV and readying to leave. The man...lets call him Homer for all intensive purposes...sits for probably 10 seconds waiting for the young man to vacate the spot then lays on his horn ever so rudely.

The young man is barely IN his car before Homer freaks out and starts to honk. Then starts to yell obscenities at the young man. Props goes to the young man for ignoring Homer. Then Homer speeds off like a madman (in a parking lot full of families) and pulls into another spot maybe 20 feet from the spot the young man had parked. Homer gets out of his truck and begins to freak out and yell at the young man. The young man has had enough of Homer's mouth and gets out of the car to confront Homer and his rudeness.

Meanwhile there are families trying to avoid this confrontation. Pretty hard to when Homer is yelling "Fuck" every two seconds. The family I spoke of before is hurrying to pack up their car, get the kids into their car seats so that they don't have to hear Homer spout his mouth off...and by this point the family is a bit worried that the confrontation will become physical.

So Homer starts to look like he is going to come after the young man....(the mother of the family's money is on the young man lol) and the young man looks ready to take on Homer if need be. By this time the father of the family has his cell in hand ready to call the cops. Again more props to the young man for just walking away and telling Homer he is insane.

Now...when did this become proper behavior? When did this become acceptable? Why is it that people now a days feel its within their rights to freak out and threaten people in public over a PARKING SPOT? Come on....have we become such a fast food society that we can't wait 1 minute? Can we not let a car into traffic instead of tailgating the car in front of you because you can't afford to lose a precious 2 seconds commute time? When did the term courteous driver go out the window?

I totally agree with you. I always say that people should have to take an IQ test along with a road test because there are just too many stupid and some really crazy drivers out on the road.
I hate road rage drivers and I especially hate tailgaters.

Those kind are just as bad as the type that will sit for 10 minutes waiting for spot and blocking all of the lanes of traffic!
