Wow holy stale blog batman!

Well yeah so I suck....yet again I have neglected the blog. This time for almost 5 months! Ouch!

Well a lot of stuff has been going on.

My stepdad was diagnosed with lung cancer and a malignant brain tumour. He underwent a gamma knife surgery on his head to try to shrink the tumor followed by full head radiation. So far it is doing its job and we shall see if another is needed later or more radiation. He had the lung tumor removed and so far they feel they got the whole thing. He may be having chemo in the new year still though.

My bio uncle is terminal with lung cancer that has spread through his body. They dont feel that it is operable now that its is this far gone but he may be seeing an oncologist here in Toronto to see this guy's opinion. Apparently he is one of the only people around that will even attempt the surgery that may prolong my uncle's life.

My Grampy is also very sick. He for years has had a leaky valve in his heart. After various medical issues (prostate cancer included), he hasnt been strong enough to have the heart surgery. Well now its not a matter of IF he is strong enough...he will die if he doesn't have the surgery soon. And the chances of him coming out of the surgery aren't very good.

So thats the bad stuff in general.

The good stuff is that my kids, Brent and I are healthy. Logan is in karate now, is doing great and he loves it! He is having a few issues in school but we are handling them as they come. He is being reassessed by the speech path at the school. I think they released him from his speech therapy too early and finally a teacher sees it that way too. So he might have to go back to going to see the path weekly. Lacy is doing great. She keeps me busy I tell you! We had our first trip to the ER recently for what we thought could have been a broken foot but it turned out it was just a bad sprain thankfully.


Getting ready for Christmas here....so hard getting into the spirit though with all the crap happening lately. Putting on a good front for the kids though and they are pretty excited! One can only hope that the new year brings better and healthier times.
