I am sorry guys! I have been neglecting this thing haven't I?
Update on the "WE brings the kids to the movies" project....it went off perfectly and all the kids had an amazing time! They were totally in awe of the sights and sounds that were around them...from the first time seeing a movie to being amazed by a urinal...it was a pretty darn special time for them! I am sure it will be a moment that will stick with them forever!
There is a new project the WE Angels are working on. This time it is to bring Christmas to Dixie! Pretty cool!!! I have also been asked by Graham to be a blog contributor for the WE Angels blog. All the details for the new project are posted there as well as on Facebook. I have created a facebook group for the WE Angels and also set up a cause for the latest project.
The kids are doing awesome. My son is becoming quite the reader lately! It is just amazing to me that he is reading to ME now with very little help on some pretty big words. He MAY need glasses though. His "Look - Hear" test at school came back saying he showed below average for his distance vision. So off to the optometrist for him soon. He is now an orange belt in karate and is still training 3 times a week. I have to order him his sparring gear this week as well...who knew a 7 year old would have to get "sparring gear" but I guess it is all part of the training.
My daughter is turning THREE in a week! Where did the time go???? Seriously it seems like a year has passed since I had her but apparently it's been three! lol I plan on doing up a castle cake for her for Sunday....need to make Nana a cake too but I am not sure if I will have the time or energy this year to get overly fancy on that one too.
The bad news is that my uncle Tony finally has succumbed to cancer. Far too young to go....he was only 42. The cancer had been eating away at him for the past 3 or more years...he fought hard...but he lost the fight on the morning of Nov 3rd.
On the other cancer front...my step dad had another gamma knife surgery done on his brain tumour and so far so good. He has to have another MRI in Dec to check on the tumour and to assess if the gamma did any good or not. The Dr is still very hopefully that this will be the last time he has to have it which is good because he doesn't want to have to go through more radiation after this. The lung is still clear and they feel that is the end of that cancer. So let's hope the one in his brain is shrinking!
What else is new? Not a whole lot...lol I guess that's a GOOD thing though.
Oh WAIT! I am also working on another project...knitting hats for the kids in South Africa. Believe it or not it can get cold at night down there especially during the winter months. So I have begun knitting hats. I have received a couple from another knitter an I am hoping to collect quite a few more before I mail them out to Dean and Helen who will be bringing them to South Africa with them on their next trip. (two wonderful ladies who help set up schools etc in poor villages in SA) So if you are reading this and are a knitter and would like to donate a hat...let me know!!

Sorry to hear about your Uncle Tony.
And good luck with the Dixie Christmas. Let me know if you need some more hats . . . I have a lot of yarn that can be used. Next time I'll use a smaller loom.
